Accounting Assistant (Job Description)

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: The duties described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of the job.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

We are looking for a full-time Accounting Assistant to perform and execute the following tasks:

 

  • Process and enter vendor invoices using knowledgeable judgment
  • Process and post all credit card receipts and expense trackers for employees
  • Track and record California (CA) Lien Releases
  • Accurately scan all accounting documents I the electronic filing system
  • Identify, research, and resolve outstanding A/P issues
  • Demonstrate the ability to adjust priorities to meet deliverables and deadlines
  • Provide data in support of tax return and other external reporting requirements
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize duties
  • Provide general support for the Accounting Department as needed, including special projects and analysis

  • 1-3 years of accounting experience
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Real estate construction experience preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Data entry/10-key experience 2+ years
  • General ledger accounting/bookkeeping 2+ years
  • Job Cost experience preferred
  • Sage 100 experience preferred
  • Prior paperless work environment preferred
  • A pre-employment background check and drug screen is required

Sitting, standing, walking, bending, twisting, kneeling, crouching, reaching grasping, squeezing, fine manipulation, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling. The work environment is a professional office. The temperature is controlled and the noise is moderate.

 

Compensation:
Depends on experience. We also offer a competitive benefits package consisting of paid holidays, PTO, medical/dental/vision insurance and a company-matched 401(k) plan.
